Inspection, adjustment, and lubrication of the drive chain

1. Inspection method: Support the motorcycle with the main support, step on the gear pedal to shift to the neutral position, swing the chain up and down, and check that its swing should be within 10 to 20 MM. If it is not within this range, it should be adjusted;

2. Adjustment method:

A. Loosen the rear axle lock nut and the rear brake adjusting nut;

Loosen the lock nut of the chain regulator;

Rotate the adjusting bolt clockwise to reduce the swing of the chain. Rotate the adjusting bolt counterclockwise to increase the swing of the chain, and adjust the swing of the chain to a range of 10-20MM.

Note: The scale of the left and right chain adjusters should be the same. If the scale of the chain regulator is in the last grid after adjustment, it indicates excessive wear on the chain transmission part, and the large and small sprockets and chains should be replaced.

D. Check the tightness of the chain, first tighten the adjusting bolt of the chain regulator, and then tighten the rear axle lock nut.

If the chain is found to be lacking in oil, it should be lubricated. Generally, it should be cleaned and lubricated every 500km, and the steps are as follows:

1. Remove the shift arm;

2. Remove the left rear cover of the engine;

3. Remove the rear chain box;

4. Find the movable chain link, remove the movable locking clip with pliers, remove the chain from the rearward direction, wash the chain in cleaning agent, and then air dry it. Check the chain for wear and replace it if necessary.

Note: The opening direction for installing the movable chain link locking clip should be consistent with the direction of chain movement.

5. Install the chain in reverse order and add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the chain.
